OVERTHINKING.
Overthinking:
Overthinking is the act of thinking about something excessively and repetitively, going beyond what is necessary or productive, often leading to stress, anxiety and a feeling of being ‘stuck’ rather than solving problems.
Cicada:
A cicada is a medium to large-sized insect known for its long life cycle and the loud sounds.
Reminds me of my childhood in Australia.
Colour :
Colour is a power which directly influences the soul.
I began this piece early summer 2025, when I was performing in York, England.
Reflecting back to my childhood in Australia, I came up with the idea of an insect, specifically a Cicada.
I started with the shell and decided to mix it up with emotion and atmosphere adding colours to its frame and therefore making it more vibrant and different.
I wanted to surround the shell with condensed writing pattern (more intense than other illustrations) probably reflecting my head space at the time.
At the time I was overthinking about life, being away from home, my responsibilities, what was important and what was not!
Balance is not something you find; it's something you create.
The key is not to prioritise what's on your schedule, but to schedule your priorities.
Fast forward Autumn 2025 and … I’m getting there, I’m creating that balance!
